Function

Receptor with high affinity for TNFSF2/TNF-alpha and approximately 5-fold lower affinity for homotrimeric TNFSF1/lymphotoxin-alpha. The TRAF1/TRAF2 complex recruits the apoptotic suppressors BIRC2 and BIRC3 to TNFRSF1B/TNFR2. This receptor mediates most of the metabolic effects of TNF-alpha. Isoform 2 blocks TNF-alpha-induced apoptosis, which suggests that it regulates TNF-alpha function by antagonizing its biological activity.

Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA.Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha (TNF-α) has been identified as an interactor of TNFRSF1B, thus a functional binding ELISA assay was conducted to detect the interaction of recombinant human TNFRSF1B and recombinant human TNF-α.

3μg/lane of Recombinant Human VCAM1 was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (R) and non-reducing (N) conditions and visualized by Coomassie® Blue staining, showing a band at 51.3 kDa under reducing conditions and 49 kDa under non-reducing conditions.
