微有辛辣味。易吸湿,在正常情况下稳定,但在高温时易生成丙醛、乳酸、丙酮酸和乙酸。能与水、丙酮和氯仿混溶,溶于醚。半数致死量(大鼠,经口)25ml/kg。溶剂, 有机合成, 抗冻剂, 增塑剂, 杀菌剂。气相色谱分析标准。气相色谱固定液(最高使用温度150℃,溶剂为氯仿),分离分析醇、酯和酮等。
