生化机理	May be involved in cell migration and/or actin cytoskeleton organization. When expressed in keratinocytes, induces changes in cell morphology with transfected cells showing an elongated shape, numerous membrane protrusions, major reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, increased motility and decreased cell adhesion. Required for normal lung cell proliferation and alveolus formation at birth. Induces platelet aggregation. Does not have any effect on folic acid or amino acid transport. Does not function as a water channel or as a regulator of aquaporin-type water channels

Flow cytometry analysis of Podoplanin/gp36 expression by C2C12 cells (red) compared to an isotype control (blue). Cells were stained with Podoplanin/gp36 Syrian hamster mAb (APC) (Ab211200) at 0.3μg/test for 1 hour at 4°C. Blue - Syrian hamster lgG-kappa (APC), anti-HEL (Ab212185). Black - Unlabelled control, cells without incubation with primary antibody.
