Tris(2-carboxyethyl)-phosphine hydrochloride (TCEP) is a strong reducing agent that is stable in an aqueous solution. It readily and stoichiometrically reduces disulfides with high specificity. TCEP exhibits reducing activity at pH 1.5 to pH 9.0 and reduces dehydroascorbic acid (DHA) at pH 4. Application: Tris(2-carboxyethyl)phosphine hydrochloride has been used:
