易溶于水,可溶于乙醇。  荧光为桔红色。性质稳定,可长期保存。最大吸收波长570nm,最大发射波长为600nm。  磺酰罗丹明B(SRB)是一种亮粉色氨基甲氧杂蒽类染料。磺酰罗丹明B(SRB)测定被广泛用于 体外 细胞毒性筛选。SRB以化学计量方式与细胞的蛋白质成分结合。因此,从染色细胞中提取的染料量与细胞质量成正比。SRB还可用于细胞密度测定

应用于荧光染色技术。磺酰罗丹明B已被用作MCF-7(人乳腺癌细胞系)细胞增殖实验的染料

Sulforhodamine B (SRB) is a bright-pink aminoxanthene dye. The sulforhodamine B (SRB) assay is extensively used for in vitro cytotoxicity screening. SRB binds to the protein constituents of the cells in a stoichiometric manner. Thus, the amount of dye extracted from stained cells is directly proportional to the cell mass. SRB can also be used for cell density determination.

Sulforhodamine B has been used as a dye in the MCF-7 (human breast adenocarcinoma cell line) cell proliferation assay
