It is a precursor for the synthesis of calcitriol {1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D 3 or [1,25(OH) 2 D 3 ]}. It is used as a biomarker to determine the status of vitamin D in the body. 25-Hydroxyvitamin D 3 -23,24,25,26,27- 13 C 5 is an isotope of vitamin D 3 wherein C-23, C-24, C-25, C-26, C-27 carbons are replaced by 13 C 6 isotope. Application 25-Hydroxyvitamin D 3 -23,24,25,26,27- 13 C 5 can be used as a stable isotope internal standard for data interpretation in specific biological samples by mass spectrometry. |
