Protein Function
Receptor with high affinity for TNFSF2/TNF-alpha and approximately 5-fold lower affinity for homotrimeric TNFSF1/lymphotoxin-alpha. The TRAF1/TRAF2 complex recruits the apoptotic suppressors BIRC2 and BIRC3 to TNFRSF1B/TNFR2. This receptor mediates most of the metabolic effects of TNF-alpha. Isoform 2 blocks TNF-alpha-induced apoptosis, which suggests that it regulates TNF-alpha function by antagonizing its biological activity.

TNF Receptor II/CD120b Armenian Hamster mAb (Ab131833) - Flow Cytometry
Two-color flow cytometric analysis of TNF Receptor II/CD120b expression on mouse splenocytes. C57BL/6 mouse spleen cells were stained with CD45R Rat mAb (FITC) (Ab191667) and either Armenian Hamster IgG (Biotin) (Ab191741; Left panel) or TNF Receptor II/CD120b Armenian Hamster mAb (Ab131833; Right panel) at 0.5 μg/mL. Two-color flow cytometric dot plots showing the correlated expression of CD45R/B220 versus TNF Receptor II/CD120b (or Isotype control staining) were derived from gated events with the forward and side light-scatter characteristics of viable mononuclear cells.
