手感滑腻,不溶于水、乙醇和乙醚,遇酸分解为硬脂酸和相应的镁盐。有刺激性。广泛用于食品添加剂、医药、涂料、塑料橡胶、纺织等行业,主要作抗结剂、乳化剂、脱模剂、润滑剂、稳定剂、增稠剂、促进剂,化妆品基料等。

It has been used as a tablet and capsule lubricant, and has also been used for preparing microcapsules.
