Resveratrol
Phytoalexins are naturally occurring secondary metabolites synthesized by plants in response to environmental stressors such as fungal infection, heavy metal exposure, or ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Among them, Resveratrol (R107315 ≥99%, R107314 analytical standard, R1372191-GMP, R408711 10mM in DMSO) is a stilbene-class phytoalexin primarily found in the skins and seeds of grapes, as well as in peanuts, soybeans, and mulberries. Resveratrol is known for its diverse biological activities, including antioxidant, anticancer, neuroprotective, and cardioprotective effects.

One of the most significant dietary sources of resveratrol is red wine, where it contributes to the health-promoting effects attributed to the polyphenolic fraction of the beverage. Resveratrol has been linked to anti-aging and metabolic benefits through its activation of Sirtuin-1 (SIRT1).
As a potent antioxidant, resveratrol reduces oxidative damage by inhibiting low-density lipoprotein (LDL) oxidation and alleviating oxidative stress in vitro. Beyond its antioxidative role, it has been shown to lower hepatic fat accumulation, reduce circulating cholesterol, and inhibit platelet aggregation.
Resveratrol exhibits a broad spectrum of chemopreventive and chemotherapeutic properties. In vitro studies demonstrate that it induces caspase-dependent apoptosis in lung cancer cells, while in vivo experiments show inhibition of lung tumor xenograft growth. Additionally, resveratrol suppresses the activities of enzymes such as cyclooxygenase (COX) and hydroperoxidase, both of which are implicated in tumor progression.
Aladdin offers several derivatives of resveratrol with enhanced or complementary properties:
• Trans-3,4’,5-Trimethoxy-stilbene (T108002 ≥97%, T422665 10mM in DMSO ): A permethylated derivative that demonstrates greater efficacy than resveratrol in inhibiting cell proliferation and tumor growth in colorectal carcinoma and prostate cancer models.
• Triacetyl Resveratrol (T133704 ≥98%, T423911 10mM in DMSO): A prodrug form of resveratrol with improved bioavailability, while retaining the anticancer potential of its parent compound.
