β-甘油磷酸盐是激酶反应缓冲液中丝氨酸-苏氨酸磷酸酶的一种经典抑制剂。BGP通常与其他磷酸酶/蛋白酶抑制剂组合,以实现广谱抑制。它是一种有机磷酸盐供体 并已在培养基中用于将间充质干细胞分化为成骨细胞型细胞。BGP也用于缓冲乳酸菌的M17培养基,以进行重组蛋白表达。 对嵌入天然胶原/壳聚糖凝胶(用于组织工程)中的骨髓衍生干细胞进行诱导分化。
