3-Allyloxy-1,2-propanediol(AP) is a multifunctional monomer which contains both allyl and hydroxyl functionalities. The allyl group allows for easy incorporation into polymer chains through various polymerization techniques, including free radical polymerization and thiol-ene reactions. The hydroxyl groups contribute to its solubility in water and compatibility with hydrophilic polymers, enhancing its utility in biomedical applications. It also exhibits high thermal stability.
