Peptoids

Description:

Peptidomimetics made of N-substituted amino acids, in which the side chains are attached to the nitrogen atom of the peptide backbone, rather than to the alpha-carbons. Alpha-peptoids (commonly referred to as peptoids) are N-substituted glycines. But in general, this class also extends to oligo- or polymers of beta-, gamma-, delta peptoid analogues of amino acids.
