| Product Description |
Meropenem-d 6 is the deuterium labeled Meropenem. Meropenem (SM 7338) is a carbapenem antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. Meropenem has activity against susceptible and resistant N. gonorrhoeae (MIC value of 0.02-0.06 mg/mL), H. influenzae (MIC value of 0.03-0.12 mg/mL), and H. ducreyi (MIC value of 0.015-0.12 mg/mL). In Vitro Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs. MCE has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only. |

| Description | This compound belongs to the class of organic compounds known as thienamycins. These are beta-lactam antibiotics that differ from penicillins in having the thiazolidine sulfur atom replaced by carbon, the sulfur then becoming the first atom in the side chain. |
