Three-dimensional flower-like Bi2WO6/KCC-1 microspheres for enhancing photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B
In this work, the Bi 2 WO 6 /KCC-1 photocatalytic composite was prepared by hydrothermal method using Bi 2 WO 6 as photocatalyst and KCC-1 as cocatalyst, for degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB). The result shows that when the mass percentage of KCC-1 in the composite is 7 % (BK-3), the photocatalytic degradation efficiency is the highest, reaching 90.63 %. Furthermore, the BK-3 composite shows a well degradation activity (83.90 %) even after four consecutive cycles of photocatalysis. Characterization of the photocatalyst by various testing techniques show that the BK-3 composite presents high visible light response, narrow energy band, and strong separation of photogenerated carriers. The results of free radical capture experiments indicate that the main active substance in the degradation of RhB under visible light is h + and ·O 2 − also plays a certain auxiliary role. This study offers promising prospects for the preparation of highly efficient photocatalysts through the modification of bismuth-based materials.
