ABSTRACT

A composite photocatalyst KCN/LFO was synthesized using K-modified g-C 3 N 4 (KCN) and LaFeO 3 (LFO). The photocatalytic activity of the KCN/LFO was evaluated by degrading indole (heterocyclic organic compound). The KCN/LFO-10 (mass fraction of LaFeO 3 with 10%) displayed the highest removal rate of indole. Indole was degraded to 97.366% after 60 min. The photocurrent and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) results suggested that the close correlation between KCN and LaFeO 3 can increasing the efficiency of photogenerated carrier separation. The capture experiment results demonstrated that ·O 2 − and ·OH is primary active substance, respectively. Moreover, the degradation efficiency of KCN/LFO-10 to indole remains stable at 87% after four successive experiments of indole photocatalytic degradation. This work presents an effective method for addressing the pollution caused by heterocyclic organic compound .
