Synthesis and properties of magnetic-luminescent bifunctional nanospheres NH2–Fe3O4/HMDA[Eu(DBM)4]
The magnetic-luminescent bifunctional nanospheres NH 2 –Fe 3 O 4 /HMDA[Eu(DBM) 4 ] were prepared by coating the amino-functionalized Fe 3 O 4 nanospheres with HMDA[Eu(DBM) 4 ]. The X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy of the bifunctional nanospheres were characterized. Molecular simulations of the adsorption configurations of the NH 2 –Fe 3 O 4 /HMDA[Eu(DBM) 4 ] were performed. The photoluminescence and magnetic properties of the nanospheres were investigated. Magnetic particle inspection utilizing NH 2 –Fe 3 O 4 /HMDA[Eu(DBM) 4 ] nanospheres was carried out to detect cracks on the coupling surface. The magnetic field at the defects of the component under the magnetic field was simulated and analyzed. Furthermore, simulations and analyses were performed to examine the magnetic field distribution at the cracks under an applied magnetic field. The magnetic-luminescent bifunctional nanospheres NH 2 –Fe 3 O 4 /HMDA[Eu(DBM) 4 ] show great promise for widespread application in magnetic particle inspection due to their high visibility under ultraviolet light and controllability in the presence of magnetic fields.
