ABSTRACT

Poly (amino acid)s-based hydrogels with high biological safety and natural antibacterial capabilities have significant clinical value in wound repair dressings. Poly ( γ -glutamic acid) (PGA) and ε -poly-lysine (EPL) are among the few poly (amino acid)s that are widely available and can be biosynthesized on a large scale. In this study, PGA and EPL were selected as backbone molecules, and the complex of protocatechuic aldehyde and iron (PA@Fe) with photothermal effects was introduced to prepare the poly (amino acid)s-based antibacterial wound repair gel PGA-EPL-PA@Fe (PEPF). The PEPF gel dressing exhibited excellent adhesive, antibacterial, antioxidant, and other multiple properties, significantly promoting wound healing in rats, indicating the high clinical application prospects of poly (amino acid)s-based dressings.
