Facile photo-induced oxygen vacancy Bi2O2[BO2(OH)] hierarchical nanosheets and its enhanced visible light photodegradation of fluoroquinolones antibiotics
Defect engineering, particularly oxygen vacancy introduction, enhances photocatalytic material performance by regulating light response and charge carrier utilization, while providing active sites. This project investigates oxygen vacancies in Bi 2 O 2 [BO 2 (OH)] for Rhodamine B and levofloxacin degradation. Findings show that 10 min of UV irradiation optimizes photocatalytic efficiency through oxygen vacancy activation, improving light absorption and charge carrier efficiency, leading to effective degradation of levofloxacin. This study establishes a link between photo-induced oxygen vacancies and photocatalytic performance, offering insights for developing efficient photocatalysts and managing antibiotic pollution.
