Fabrication of MoS2/CdS/TiO2 composites for photoreduction of U(VI) under visible light
The introduction of MoS 2 is beneficial to the separation and transfer of photogenerated electron–hole pairs for CdS/TiO 2 . Herein, MoS 2 /CdS/TiO 2 composites were synthesized by one-step solvothermal method at 200 °C and applied to photocatalytic reduction of U(VI) from aqueous solutions. The batch characterizations showed the irregular spherical MoS 2 /CdS/TiO 2 composites with low bandgap (1.95 eV) and high chemical stability. MoS 2 /CdS/TiO 2 composites displayed the rapid removal rate of U(VI) (more than 90 % under 15 min illumination), good regeneration (> 91 % after four cycles) due to the highly efficient separation of electron-hole pair. The possible photocatalytic pathway was demonstrated to be the main active ·O 2 − radical by quenching experiments, ESR and XPS analysis. This work highlights the potential application of MoS 2 /CdS/TiO 2 on removal of radioactive wastewater in the actual remediation.
