ABSTRACT

Assaying the contents of phytohormones in citrus is essential for their safety monitory and quality control. This work described a facile and ultrafast d-SPE procedure for the detection of phytohormones in citrus using UiO-66 as the sorbent. In this method, the adsorption and desorption of phytohormones on UiO-66 can be completed in a very short time, 30   s and 5   s, respectively. The inspection of adsorption mechanism reveals that the ultrafast extraction is mainly resulted from the electrostatic interactions between phytohormones and UiO-66. Moreover, the developed method presents satisfactory linearity (R 2 of 0.9996-1.0000), low LODs (0.17-5.00   ng   g -1 ), satisfactory the intra-day RSDs of 1.21-5.68% and inter-day RSDs of 3.52-7.28% with recoveries of 67.5-110.5%, as well as the matrix effects can be neglected. These results demonstrated that the established method is efficient and reliable to determine the phytohormones in citrus. Furthermore, the method was used to evaluate the contents of phytohormones in citrus at different growth stages.
