ABSTRACT

The development and fabrication of advanced fluorescence materials is essential for the increasing demand of information encryption with high security. Herein, a smart dynamic single-component system with novel orthogonal and time-dependent encryption properties has been obtained based on solvent-modulated emission. By controlling the aggregation of BODIPY derivatives via changing the solvents, multi-color fluorescence from blue, cyan to green has been achieved. Taking advantage of the solvent-tunable fluorescence, dynamically controlled information encryption strategies have been designed and developed such as fluorescent codes with orthogonal encryption function. Nevertheless, time-dependent encryption system has been developed by enabling the fluorophore in the solid phase which can display multiple codes on a time scale and the correct information can only be read at specified time. This work provides a promising strategy for developing information encryption materials with higher security requirements.
