Self-assembled CuO-bearing aerogel-like hollow Al2O3 microspheres for room temperature dry capture of H2S
In this study, adsorbents were self-assembled using CuO-loaded hollow microspheres. Adsorption tests for H 2 S in biogas were performed at room temperature under dry atmosphere. The specific surface area of the adsorbent is 270 m 2 /g, with an adsorption capacity as high as 51.87 mg H 2 S/g, attributed to the well-developed adsorbent pore volume of 0.932 cm 3 /g, wherein mesopores and macropores accounted for 99.14%. In addition, nano-CuO, with a particle size of 5.34 nm, is evenly dispersed on the whiskers of the hollow spheres. These factors provide a good environment for H 2 S adsorption from biogas. The regeneration rate of the adsorbent after the third and fifth regenerations was approximately 80% and 60%, respectively, suitable for the removal of H 2 S from biogas at room temperature under dry atmosphere.
