Bi3+ → Mn2+ energy transfer and tunable luminescence in Ba9La2Si6O24:Bi3+/Mn2+ phosphors
A few of Bi 3+ /Mn 2+ doped Ba 9 La 2 Si 6 O 24 phosphors were synthesized in air by the solid state reactions at 1400 °C for the purpose of investigating their possible uses in the light-emitting diodes. The phase and luminescence performance were surveyed using the X-ray diffractometer and spectrometer, respectively. The results demonstrate the single phase and absorbance to the ultraviolet light of the synthesized phosphors. There is the Bi 3+ → Mn 2+ energy transfer, which gives rise to the tunable luminescence of the Bi 3+ /Mn 2+ codoped Ba 9 La 2 Si 6 O 24 phosphors. Upon the ultraviolet light excitation, the white light is generated by the Ba 9 La 2 Si 6 O 24 :0.03Bi 3+ /0.02Mn 2+ and Ba 9 La 2 Si 6 O 24 :0.03Bi 3+ /0.03Mn 2+ phosphors.
