Synthesis, characterization and antibacterial properties of chitosan/Ag2S/CQDs hydrogel
Using chitosan as raw material, a composite-featured chitosan/Ag 2 S/carbon quantum dot (CS/Ag 2 S/CQDs hydrogels) was synthesized by successfully uploading carbon quantum dots (CQDs) and silver sulfide (Ag 2 S). According to the SEM and TEM characterization of the material, the hydrogel material has a rich pore-like structure, which can absorb wound tissue fluid and promote wound healing. Staphylococcus aureus (Gram-positive), Escherichia coli (Gram-negative) and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus were used as model bacteria to test the antibacterial effect of CS/Ag 2 S/CQDs. This material not only has excellent inhibitory effect on common bacteria (the inhibitory rate of E. coli and S. aureus is 86% and 67%, respectively), but also has good inhibitory effect on drug-resistant bacteria (the inhibitory rate of MRSA is 73%). The bacterial toxicity test showed that CS/Ag 2 S/CQDs hydrogel had low toxicity. Meanwhile, CS/Ag 2 S/CQDs hydrogels degraded 28.39% of the hydrogels during a 7 days biodegradation. Its excellent bacteriostatic and degradable properties make it a potential candidate for a new type of medical dressing for clinical application.
