A facile preparation process of polyhexamethylene biguanide/cellulose/polylactic acid fiber composite antibacterial paper
Traditional cellulose wrapping paper existing many problems, such as poor barrier, easy water absorption, etc. Herein, cellulose, polylactic acid non-woven fabric and antibacterial short fiber as raw materials, via wet papermaking process, prepared a biodegradable and antibacterial composite paper (SP/CFPLA-6%). Compared with the traditional cellulose paper, the water vapor transmittance of SP/CFPLA-6% decreased by 84.2%, showing obvious hydrophobicity. The tensile strength of SP/CFPLA-6% can reach 95.8 MPa, which is more than 70 MPa higher than that of ordinary cellulose paper, displaying promising antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus . Meanwhile, SP/CFPLA-6% shows excellent biodegradability in biodegradation experiments. SP/CFPLA-6% offsets the shortcomings of ordinary cellulose wrapping paper and can be used as a substitute for traditional non-degradable plastic packaging materials.
