Ionic liquid-assisted green solution approach for high-performance full-color emission quantum dot films of Ag-doped ZnxCd1−xS
Inorganic quantum dot films possess outstanding optical and electrical properties, which are promising in the fields of temperature sensors, thin film transistors, photodetectors, and quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs). In this paper, high-performance Ag-doped Zn x Cd 1−x S quantum dot films with full-color emission were prepared by a facile and environmentally friendly ionic liquid-assisted approach successfully. The ionic liquid solvent which plays a critical role in the preparation process was formed by the addition of n-butylammonium and n-butylamine in methanol. The n-butylammonium butyrate ionic liquid is low-temperature thermally degradable and can be easily removed from the final quantum dot films by a sintering process. The emitting color of Ag-doped Zn x Cd 1−x S quantum dot films can be easily tuned by changing the contents of Ag, Zn, and Cd in the films. The final as-prepared Ag-doped Zn x Cd 1−x S quantum dot films exhibit the high performance of full-color emission, simple process, and low preparation cost. This work will provide a new strategy to prepare high-performance photoelectric devices with a facile ionic liquid-assisted green solution approach.
