Preparation and luminescence characteristics of Bi3+ doped BaLaGa3O7 phosphors

ABSTRACT

In this paper, cyan BaLaGa 3 O 7 : Bi 3+ phosphors were synthesized by solid-state reaction method at 1400 °C. The crystal structure, elemental composition and optical properties were characterized and studied. The results of X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and infrared spectroscopy indicate the successful synthesis of BaLaGa 3 O 7 : Bi 3+ phosphors with the pure phase. The BaLaGa 3 O 7 : Bi 3+ phosphors show wide band emission corresponding to the 3 P 1 → 1 S 0 transition of Bi 3+ when excited at 328 nm.
