Product Describtion: Blue dextrans are synthesised from controlled dextran fractions by reacting with Cibacron blue F3GA. After purification from non-bound dye, products are controlled for molecular weight, solubility, degree of substitution, free dye and loss on drying. Aladdin offer blue dextran in a wide variety of molecular weights, ranging from 5 kDa to 2000 kDa.Dextran is a polysaccharide derived from the bacterium Leuconostoc mesenteroides B512F; and consists of an α-D-(1 – 6) linear glucan with a low content (ca. 5%) of side chains linked to 3-carbon of glucose. The dextran is then labelled with Cibacron blue F3GA.Blue dextran has long been used as a void volume marker in chromatography. Blue dextran can also be used as a molecular marker. Blue dextran was used for affinity chromatography, gel filtration chromatography, protein chromatography and molecular weight markers. Blue glucan has been used to study Alzheimer's disease. Dextran blue is also used to prepare and characterize macromolecular protein models such as microsphere biological structures. Dextran blue combined with lactate dehydrogenase isoenzyme (LDH-5) can be used for detection and expansion. Dextran blue is used in various tissue diffusion analyses.
