1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate ([EMIM][Ac]) is a water miscible, ecofriendly imidazolium ionic liquid.It shows good cellulose dissolution ability. Study on the influence of [EMIM]Ac on the growth of Clostridium sp. and Pseudomonas putida showed hormetic effect. Addition of inorganic salts has been reported to enhance its ionicity. The thermal stability of cellulose in [EMIM]Ac has been investigated. |
